What Causes Migraines?
It is believed that migraines are caused by chemical changes in the brain. When a person experiences a migraine, the levels of serotonin decreases.When levels of serotonin are low, blood vessels in the brain spasm. Soon after this, the blood vessels widens and this is believed to cause the headache.
Many researchers believe that migraines and hormonal changes are also interrelated, in particular changes in female hormonal levels, have been linked to migraines.
There are many types of triggers for migraines and for many sufferers, its not just one trigger but a combination of triggers- they include:

Anger, stress, Anxiety / worry, tension, shock, depression or excitement.Physical

bright lights, smoking (or smoky rooms), loud noises, changes in climate, strong smells, a lack of fresh air, flickering or flashing lights
